"This image is made from three frames I made on the set for the video. I printed these together in the darkroom before Photoshop. Michael Stipe is a remarkable subject for the camera. He sometimes seems to be moving in slow motion. It makes you notice that many of the things we do have both a conscious and subconscious component.
