Pilar Law has spent more than 25 years immersed in the world of photography—as an advocate for photographers, curator, gallerist, and artist. Her career has taken her across the evolving landscape of the medium, most importantly through the transition from analog to digital, during which time she worked with photographers, stock agencies, technology companies, and photo labs to advance new approaches to fine art printing, bookmaking, exhibition, and the presentation of photographic work.

Her own photography grew from this sustained engagement with photographers and the medium. The Space Between reflects her interest in looking beyond the literal image to find the poetry within the everyday. Working with “soft eyes,” she explores the interplay of light, shape, color, and atmosphere, seeking to transform what is seen into something felt.

Law’s photographs have been exhibited in Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Santa Fe and published in books, journals, and magazines, including Visions of Santa Fe: Photographers See the City Different and Bill Richardson’s Between Worlds: The Making of an American Life.

After years in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Kansas City, Law returned to her hometown of Santa Fe, where she founded Edition ONE Gallery on historic Canyon Road. Under her direction, the gallery has become a distinctive platform for contemporary photography, presenting limited-edition works by emerging, regional, and internationally recognized artists while fostering dialogue between artists, collectors, and the broader photographic community.

Pilar’s professional affiliations include serving as Vice President of the ASMP Los Angeles Board of Directors, Treasurer and Secretary of ASMP-KC Mid-America, and a board member of the Kansas City Society for Contemporary Photography.
