The buffalo is a large animal and can weigh up to one and a half tons. It has a massive head, humped shoulders, and an almost exaggerated appearance because of it’s shaggy fur. Humps are often symbolic of stored forces, reservoirs that can be tapped. In the case of the buffalo, it reflects the abundance that is available if we know how to tap it.

The massive head also implies the need to combine our efforts with the Divine. The head is the upper region. It is the symbol of the heavens and the divine and higher faculties. In the case of the buffalo we are informed that both mundane and the spiritual are necessary for manifesting what we are seeking.
