Devo, 1982 - Penthouse Magazine shoot
This was shot for Penthouse Magazine - yes people did buy it for the articles! The room was built out of plywood with a 12x12 foot opening in the front and a 4x6 foot opening in the back. We used approximately 5,000 sheet rock screws and 2,000 pounds of potatoes (sliced in half) then pushed onto the heads of the screws. A fog machine finished the look. We had to work all night getting the potatoes up as we knew they would begin to fall as they began to dry out.
